Research Scientist, Nutrition Investigation

Dawna specializes in research and nutrition investigation, including NUTRILITE Concentrated Fruits and Vegetables and the company's flagship product DOUBLE X® Multivitamin/Multimineral. She has been instrumental in product launches for NUTRILITE Essentials Global Controlled Release of Vitamin B and Vitamin C as well as NUTRILITE Memory Builder. Dawna was named 2003 Neuroscience Researcher of the Year – University of Southern California Graduate Program in Neuroscience, where she earned her doctorate degree in neuroscience. During her time in academic research she received 3 research grants as a principal investigator from the National Institute of Health to fund her work studying food reward processing in the brain. Her papers on how the brain directs and controls hunger and eating have been published in several journals, including American Journal of Physiology and Physiology & Behavior. She has also co-authored book chapters for two books-The Handbook of Behavioral Neurobiology (2nd ed) and Molecular Neurosurgery with Targeted Toxins. She is a member of the American Dietetic Association, the Sports and Cardiovascular Association for Dietitians, the Society for Neuroscience, the Society for the Study of Ingestive Behavior and is a registered dietitian specialist in weight maintenance for adolescents and children.
